Guiding this journey is Captain Ibbe, a proud Maldivian and long-time crew member of Milaidhoo Maldives. Born and raised on the nearby island of Kendhikulhudhoo in Noonu Atoll, the sea has been part of Ibbe’s life since childhood. To him, being on the water is like returning home. With his legendary smile and deep knowledge of the ocean, Captain Ibbe leads guests through traditional Maldivian fishing methods, including trolling and jigging, using only a line and instinct passed down through generations.
But the experience doesn’t end with the last catch.
As the sun dips below the horizon, guests are whisked away to an exclusive, untouched sandbank, where magic awaits. Greeted by the gentle beat of Bodu Beru drums and the golden glow of sunset, a private chef stands ready to transform the fresh catch into a Maldivian-style BBQ feast, prepared over an open flame and wrapped in banana leaves, just like the islanders do.
