Cebu Pacific to Start Davao Direct Flights to Boracay, Puerto Princesa, Bangkok, Tacloban


Davao City is bound for a major expansion in its air travel options, with direct flights to Boracay, Puerto Princesa, Bangkok, and Tacloban set to commence. Although there has been no official announcement from Davao International Airport Authority (DIAA), the new routes have already been listed on Cebu Pacific’s official website, sparking excitement among travelers and industry insiders.

The anticipated launch of these routes, expected to begin in late-October 2024. This could bring significant enhancement in connectivity for Davao City, which has long been a bridge of Mindanao. The direct flights will cater to both domestic and international travelers, opening up new possibilities for tourism and business. Job opportunities for industry experts are also expected to rise.

According to Cebu Pacific’s website, the new routes will include direct flights to Boracay and Puerto Princesa, both popular destinations within the Philippines, and an international route to Bangkok, Thailand. The addition of Tacloban, a key city in the Visayas, further strengthens the regional connectivity within the Philippines.

The introduction of these flights is expected to attract more visitors to Davao City, which is renowned for its natural beauty and vibrant culture. The city’s attractions, including Mount Apo, the Philippine Eagle Center, and Samal Island, are likely to benefit from the increased accessibility provided by these new routes.
