Pineapple tarts rank among the most popular type of CNY goodies. It is commonly offered to guests who visit during CNY or as gifts to loved ones and friends. In Singapore, there are a few types of pineapple tarts that one commonly finds – from open-faced pineapple tarts to pineapple balls to roll tarts or even Taiwan-style rectangular pineapple cakes. Whichever style you prefer, I aim to list some of the best pineapple tarts I have found for CNY 2025, for your perusal. This list will also be updated as the season progresses.

Shangri-la Singapore

*Limited Orders* Shangri-la Singapore’s Pineapple Tarts (S$57) are shaped like actual pineapples and are packed in boxes of 16pcs each. For CNY 2025, the pineapple tarts will come in two-tiered boxes with a floral motif.

Xin Yong Sheng

Xin Yong Sheng was founded in 1952 as a neighborhood pastry shop – which they remain to this day. For the coming Year of the Rabbit, they are selling their classic Pineapple Tart (S$19.90). Other interesting flavors from them include the Pandan Pineapple (S$19.90) and Cranberry Pineapple (S$19.10).

SunnyHills needs no introduction. This Taiwanese sweets shop known primarily for its pineapple tarts is so popular among Singaporeans that it maintains a local presence in our tropical shores. Those who typically head to Taiwan to buy back these goodies will be delighted to note that many of the bestsellers are available here as well. The most popular is their Pineapple Cake Tart (S$29). This is done in typical Taiwan style in the shape of a rectangle. The butter shell is made with all-natural New Zealand butter, gourmet Japanese flour, and healthy plump-yoked eggs while the golden filling is made with their famous sun-ripened pineapples. Other popular items at SunnyHills include the Apple Cake Tart (S$21.20). The filling is made from Kougyoku red apples which originate from Tsugaru Fuji in Aomori Ken, Japan. Similar to their pineapple cake tarts, their apple cake tarts also contain no artificial additives and flavorings.

Mdm Ling Bakery

Aside from traditional pineapple tarts, Mdm Ling Bakery is offering a unique type of Cranberry Pineapple Balls (S$21.80). Weighing 470 grams, the pineapple tarts come with bits of cranberry in the filling. Mdm Ling Bakery’s pineapple tarts are halal-certified and they are also selling bundles featuring their pineapple tarts combined with boxes of their cookies.

Hipster Bakes

Hipster Bakes started as a home-based one-product bakery – known for their moustache shaped sugar cookies. They have since moved to offering other products such as cookies to cakes, tarts, macarons and many more. In 2015, they opened their first retail outlet in Siglap Centre. Their Pineapple Tarts (S$22) attracts a steady following for both CNY and Hari Raya due to its rich buttery crust and not-so-sweet filling.

Gin Thye’s pineapple tarts are among the most popular online due to their affordable prices and delivery options. They offer a few types of pineapple tarts – the Pineapple Ball (S$15.64), Long Pineapple Tart (S$15.64) and Flower-Type Pineapple Tart (S$15.64). All types weigh 580 grams and are encased in a tin.
