A 102-year-old former hospital has been revitalised as KADA, Singapore’s latest lifestyle destination offering holistic dining, wellness, living, and art experiences. The heritage building, located at 5 Kadayanallur Street and formerly St. Andrew’s Mission Hospital for women and children, is an early example of Singapore’s Modernist architecture. Designed by Swan & Maclaren—the same architectural firm behind iconic landmarks like the Raffles Hotel and Tanjong Pagar Railway Station—the building has been meticulously restored to meet contemporary needs.
What makes this historic building even special is that they have also retained its original electric lift, considered to be the oldest in Singapore. Once ferrying children to the rooftop for sunshine, this antique marvel now whisks visitors to a rooftop urban oasis with dining venues and creative spaces.
KADA at Maxwell — History Reimagined as a Vibrant Social Space

The 4-storey building’s legacy of well-being continues in its new incarnation. KADA has been reimagined as a multifaceted lifestyle destination where visitors can work, live, play, and unwind under one roof—mirroring the building’s original mission of health and wellness.

The carefully curated tenant mix creates a cohesive ecosystem that spans multiple dimensions of modern wellness. KADA’s second floor is dedicated to physical wellness, featuring Limitless Performance Gym and Shiruki Studio, which offer personalised workouts and recovery sessions. Beyond physical wellness, KADA offers diverse dining experiences, from Japanese Izakaya to Spanish Tapas and Southeast Asian cuisine. This includes Daikoku, Lavi’s, D’Penyetz Heritage, and the newly opened rooftop resto-bar, Proud Perfect Potions, among others.
But the first thing that stands out is the number of coffee spots within KADA. There are four homegrown cafes at ground level: Pacto by Parchmen, Kyuukei, Kit&Kaboodle, and Echo. Interestingly, KADA serves as an incubator for first-time business owners and innovative concepts. This collaborative spirit is embodied in KADA’s thriving coffee culture, where even competitors unite through a shared passion for craftsmanship, establishing KADA as a premier coffee destination.

KADA elevates urban living through its Habyt co-living spaces, where residents enjoy seamless access to all wellness amenities. This thoughtfully designed private accommodation, inspired by community living, creates a welcoming habitat for digital nomads, young professionals, and those seeking flexible living in Singapore’s vibrant cityscape.
