Massage at Shine Spa Sheraton Bali and Stroll to Seminyak Village!

This post is part of our travels from Singapore to Brisbane (via Bali with Jetstar – $425 per person) and returning via a stopover in Bali (Brisbane to Bali via Jetstar – $300 per person). The last leg from Bali to Singapore was via KLM at a surprisingly affordable price of $79. This made the return flight from Singapore to Brisbane a rather affordable total of $800 SGD.

On day 9 of our travels in Bali, we started the day with a massage at Shine Spa Sheraton Bali. As we made our booking for 10am, we headed out to Circle K for our coffee (15K IDR) and took in the views by the pools at Sheraton Bali before starting our massage at Shine Spa Sheraton Bali (800k for 2 pax or about $70 SGD for 75 minutes Balinese Massage for 2).

This morning our masseuse were Santini and Krisna. Both of their techniques were superb. Enjoyed the long flowing strokes like an endless tide. Tom mentioned about his knots at his shoulders and Santini focused on it, relieving his muscle tensions with such good techniques. The massage at Shine Spa Sheraton Bali was professionally executed, pampering and relaxing. In fact, we dozed off a couple of times – a testimony to the comfort and pampering experience that we had this time. Of the massages that we had in Bali during this trip, the massage at Shine Spa Sheraton Bali was probably the most enjoyable. Despite paying a much higher price, it deserved a mention because of the professionalism of the masseuse (checking your pain points and medical history) before using excellent techniques (long flowing and comfortable strokes) to execute the entire experience to perfection. Good stuff!

As we had passed by Gyu Kaku a couple of times at Beachwalk Bali Shopping Mall before, we wanted to dine here to enjoy the “discount” as compared to dining in Singapore. This time, we had the

GK Yakiniku Set (99K IDR)
– Karubi
– Suki Shabu
– Rosu
– Juicy Beef Pot
– Teriyaki Chicken

and the

Prime Yakiniku Set (199K IDR)
– Gyu-Kaku Karubi
– Suki Shabu
– Diced Fillet Steak

All sets came with a drink, rice, sides, salad and soup. The offerings at Gyu Kaku Bali was actually very similar to that in Singapore. Just that the prices are more affordable here – perhaps a 20% discount. Otherwise, taste wise, it was pretty close.

@2bearbeartravel Enjoyed the #lunchmenu at #Gyukaku #beachwalkshoppingcenter #kuta #bali. Tried the #yakiniku and prime Yakiniku Set for 99k and 199k IDR respectively. #yummy 🤤😋 #beef #bbq #gyu #barbecue #food #foodie #sgfoodie #foodtok #foodtiktok #kutabeach ♬ BBQ (Australian Summer) – Hey Mickey

Soon, it was time to start our walk from Kuta to Seminyak Village – a small shopping mall in Seminyak…

The walk from Kuta to Seminyak took close 2 hours. The entire walk from Kuta to Seminyak was paved. The board walk by the beaches of Kuta, Legian and Seminyak could be walked all the way till Ku De Ta Seminyak. Along the way, we stopped by a bar known as Mora Bar at Legian. Here, we bought 2 Bintangs for 60K IDR ($5 SGD). We enjoyed the breeze while sitting under the shade on the bean bag lounge chairs. Re-energised, we continued till we reached the end of the board walk at Ku De Ta Seminyak. Thankfully when we turned into Seminyak, the Seminyak Flea Market was nearby and the Seminyak Village Shopping Mall a short walk away.

We checked out Seminyak Village Shopping Mall and it is actually quite small. It has 2 storeys with alot of pop-up stalls. There’s a H&M as well as a couple of restaurants here as well. After walking around the mall, we stopped by Baked. to try out some of their pastries. We ordered the Kouign Amann (24K IDR – $2 SGD), Avo (Sour Dough Bread with Smashed Avocado – 60K IDR / $5 SGD) and Iced Latte (40K IDR – $3.5) which were all delicious and affordable for SG standards. The Avo in particular was superb. We loved the fresh smashed avocado with a nice seasoning as well as a generous serving of vegetables. It’s like a Avocado Toaste with a large salad on the side. Probably one of the best Avo Toast we’ve had because of the textures and flavours of the different vegetables used, along with the rich creamy avocado. Kouign Amann was tasty as well though Kate thinks that Tiong Bahru Bakery does it slightly better with its buttery taste. Latte tasted gourmet. A great place to hang out and chill if you’re in the Seminyak area.

@2bearbeartravel After walking from #Kuta to #Seminyak, we finally reached #seminyakvillage in about 1.5 hours. Chilled at #baked with #kouignamann #icedlatte and #avocadotoast. The #Avo (60k) was probably one of the best we’ve had with a good mix of garden vegetables to give the different textures and flavours along with the rich, creamy #avocado ! #Yummy #food #foodie #sgfoodie #foodtok #foodtiktok #bali #indonesia #2bearbear #bakery #pastry #pastries #travel #foodbloggers ♬ Morning Coffee – Chevy & Nalba

We headed over to Carla Spa nearby for a…Avocado hair cream spa! At 150K ($13 SGD) per person for a 45 minutes treatment, it included a hair wash, a hair spa, head and shoulder massage while waiting for the avocado cream to be absorbed. There was another wash and blow dry at the end to round up the treatment. Surprisingly, the end result was shiny, flowing hair for Kate and light fluffy hairdo for Tom.

As we were still not hungry, we decided to takeaway dinner back to Mercure Kuta Bali to enjoy by the infinity pool. While walking around the vicinity, we noticed BO$$MAN and decided to head in, not knowing what it sold. Turns out, it was a burger joint with gourmet burgers on its menu. This time, we chose Lucky Pig and Numero Uno burgers. Lucky Pig (90K IDR) had 2 pieces of braised pork belly with a chives-based sauce inside while Numero Uno was a typical beef burger with generous cheese laid over. With taxes, the total bill came up to 223K IDR ($20 SGD) – definitely a little expensive for the locals. We took the Grab ride back from Seminyak to Mercure Kuta Bali for 79K IDR ($7 SGD) as the driver had the navigate through the jams on the way back. We chilled by the pool this evening with 2 Bintang beers (55k IDR / $5 each) so that we could have the burgers by the pool.

@2bearbeartravel After our hair spa near #SeminyakVillage, we headed to #Bo$$man to try out their #gourmetburgers At about 100k for each #burger , though its not exactly cheap, #bossman does deliver on quality. Both #luckypig and #numerouno surprised us with the sauce, fatty #pork belly and chunky #beef patty #shiok 😋👍 #food #foodie #sgfoodie #foodtok #foodtiktok #burgers #yum #yummy #delicious #bossmanburger #seminyak #bali #indonesia ♬ March of the Crystal Horses – Torchlight

Had the runs in the evening. Probably due to the swimming pool water we’re guessing? But we were glad to have watched In Time and also the fireworks throughout the night.

Stay tuned as we headed over to Mal Galleria Bali – another huge mall in Bali with a hypermart and restaurants on Day 10 of our travels in Bali!
