Afterglow Bar & Kitchen was where we headed to on our second day in Bali (enroute back from Brisbane to Singapore). There were several reasons why we chose to chill at Afterglow Bar & Kitchen. Firstly, as it was under the Accor brand at Tribe hotel, there were supposedly 1-for-1 drinks – which we later found out to be available to everyone. Secondly, because of the modern vibes and decorations of Afterglow Bar – beach club vibes. Lastly, the views. From the photos, we saw that there was an infinity roof top pool which also offers unblocked views out to sea. After researching several rooftop bars in Bali, Afterglow came up tops in our research and after visiting, it probably is the best rooftop bar in Bali and here’s why…

Our first impressions of Afterglow Bar & Kitchen was that of “Wow!”. As you can see from the photos, the bar itself has a modern vibe to it. Beach colours and wooden panelling and furnitures. A beautiful chevron backsplash leads you to the kitchen which has a modern open-concept as well. You can see the chefs in action as they prepare your meals. Definitely an entertaining experience in the evenings.

Tipsy Hours at Afterglow Bar & Kitchen Bali with 1-for-1 Cocktails

After finding our seat close to the pool but still in the shade (to block out the direct UV rays), we immediately queried about the Afterglow Bar 1-for-1 cocktails that we saw on the Accor website. Turns out the Tipsy Hours deal is available to the public as well (although it was written that Accor Plus members enjoy buy 1 get 1 with validity from 12pm to 4pm). Nonetheless, we were still happy to find the 1-for-1 cocktail menu available during their Tipsy Hours promotion and these are the cocktails on the menu:

Watermelon Spritz
(Aperol Infused Watermelon, Watermelon Syrup, Sparkling Wine, Soda Water)

Mimosa Jolley
(Vodka, Aperol, Apple Juice, Ginger Beer, Cucumber Fresh, Lemon Juice)

Love Bomb
(Vodka, Grape, Mint Spring, Blueberry Syrup, Lemon Juice)

Sparkle
(White Rum, Lychee Liqueur, Acid Solution, Blueberry Syrup, Sparkling Wine)

Creamy Maracuja
(White Rum, Passion Puree, Vanilla Syrup, Lemon Juice, Passion Cream)

During the Tipsy Hour 1-for-1 Cocktail hours, any 2 of these cocktails go for 119K++ IDR or ~$12 SGD, which is a pretty good deal. This time, we ordered the Watermelon Spritz, Mimosa Jolley, Sparkle and Creamy Maracuja till the next deal started from 4pm…

Our favourite cocktails were Mimosa Jolley, Sparkle and Creamy Maracuja. In particular, the Creamy Maracuja had a yoghurt-like cream at the top which made it very tasty but under the hot sun, it was wise to finish the drink a little faster. While sipping on these delicious cocktails, we took time to dip in the rooftop infinity pool at Afterglow Bar & Kitchen. From the edge of the infinity pool of Tribe Hotel, we were able to see surfers enjoying themselves as the waves come in as well. In terms of views, Afterglow Bar probably has one of the best views of Kuta/Legian beach because it is unblocked to the north and to the south. Great for just chilling out, sipping on cocktails and enjoying the beach club vibes throughout the day…

Afterglow Bar & Kitchen Burger Bundle

While flipping through the promotions available at Afterglow Bar & Kitchen, Tom noticed that there was a promotion at 4pm for the Burger Bundle. The Burger Bundle at Afterglow Bar includes a burger (beef or chicken), fries and a bottle of beer for 99k++ (~$10 SGD). The fries was also truffle fries which made the deal extra worthwhile. This time, we chose the chicken burger which came in 2 small pieces of fried patties. Singaraja beer also complemented the burger and fries well. The Burger Bundle brought us to sunset when another deal took place this evening…

Turns out, there was an OVO Tequila event this evening! OVO Tequila is a tequila made-in-Bali and they invited a celebrity bartender and host to cover the event. During the event, guests at Afterglow Bar & Kitchen can choose and be taught how to make their very own cocktail – DIY. This evening, Tom chose the Xicola Agave and Paloma Blueberries and was given the opportunity to use the cocktail measuring tool (jiggers) and shake our very own cocktails! As there was publicity during the event, you may soon see Tom on OVO publicities soon! 😅

During the OVO Tequila event at Afterglow Bar & Kitchen, we were able to enjoy the beautiful sunset right at the edge of their rooftop swimming pool. All in all, we had a wonderful time at Afterglow Bar Bali. Not only do they have excellent deals on cocktails throughout the day, views from their infinity rooftop swimming pool is undoubtedly one of the best. With the beautiful sunsets that you’ll be able to see from Afterglow Bar & Kitchen everyday, we think that it could undoubtedly be one of the best rooftop bar in Bali!
