Es Teler 77 was where we stopped by for lunch during our day trip to Galeria Mall Bali, better known as Mal Bali Galeria. While walking round the entire mall, we were also looking out for restaurants to try out local Indonesian dishes as well. Es Teler 77 was a familiar brand that we had tried during our visit to Bandung years back and we were mesmerised by their Tauhu Telur then. The brand had a good run in Singapore but seems to have closed down both its joint at Siglap and Cineleisure. Since we were in the vicinity of a Es Teler 77, we decided to give it a try a we were glad that we did…
What We Had at Es Teler 77 Mal Bali Galeria

After analysing the menu at Es Teler 77, we went with
Ikan Nila Goreng – 50K IDR ($4.5 SGD)
Batagor – 35K IDR ($3)
Tahu Telur – 38K IDR ($3.3 SGD)
All of the food from Es Teler 77 were delicious! Our favourite during this meal was the Ikan Nila Goreng (50K) – a fried fish. Although there were small bones and some scales on it, the meat was really really sweet. The skin was crisp and we could taste that the fish was fresh as well. For $4.5, this was a pretty good deal. We also tried out the Batagor (35K) which is a Sudanese dish made from fried fish dumplings and covered in a peanut sauce. While we didn’t really like the chewy texture, the taste was actually quite alright. A little more firm and we’d like the dish even more. Lastly, the Mie Ayam Pangsit Rebus (42K) had noodles that was more similar to our “mee pok”. Dry with aromatic seasoning and a bouncy mie. Enjoyed it with the shallots that gave that crisp texture. Lastly, our favourite Tahu Telur (38K). Although we knew that the eggs that topped the tahu telur would be unhealthy – CRISPY DEEP FRIED EGGS, the dish was so delicious and it seemed that there’s now a twist to the tahu. Not only was it deep fried to perfection, the tahu within also had some bits of steamed eggs inside. Pretty good actually. We enjoyed the sauce because it was not spicy and was more sweet to the style of our Singapore rojak sauce. Overall, a fantastic meal.
But, we still had space for desserts!

For desserts, we had the namesake, Estel 77 (40K). This time, we chose the mixed fruit version (instead of the pure avocado one) which came with jackfruit, coconut and avocado. The fruits were really quite delicious, especially the jackfruit which was sweet and aromatic. The only we didn’t quite like was the size of the ice. A little too big – we had to spit it out with every scoop of the dessert. Perhaps a shaved ice version would have been good.

Glad to have found and tried Es Teler 77 again. We got to enjoy our favourite Tahu Telur and also tried out new items such as the Batagor and Ikan Goreng – which was a surprise find with its fresh and sweet meat. Definitely would try out Tahu Telur and along with other dishes when we next visit Indonesia. If you have a favourite dish at Es Teler 77, let us know more in the comments section below!
