This post is part of our travels from Singapore to Brisbane (via Bali with Jetstar – $425 per person) and returning via a stopover in Bali (Brisbane to Bali via Jetstar – $300 per person). The last leg from Bali to Singapore was via KLM at a surprisingly affordable price of $79. This made the return flight from Singapore to Brisbane a rather affordable total of $800 SGD.
On day 3 of our travels in Brisbane, it was Wedding Day! This morning, we started breakfast Ibis Styles Brisbane Elizabeth Street at their in-house restaurant, The Social Restaurant & Bar…
Brisbane Travels Day 3 Itinerary
Breakfast Buffet at Ibis Styles Brisbane Elizabeth Street – The Social Restaurant and Bar

As we were on Accor Plus, we were able to have the breakfast at $15 instead of $30. Although it was slightly cheaper to book the room with breakfast ($20 more per night), but in this way, we were able to decide to have breakfast on some days and not others.

As mentioned by on online reviews, the quality of breakfast, though consisting only of continental selection, was surprisingly good. There were poached eggs with runny egg yolk and really sweet fruits such as honeydew and honeymelon. Sausages were not too salty and pastries were tasty as well. A great start for breakfast this morning!
After breakfast, we watched Haunted Mansion (a Disney Movie) which Kate accidentally stumbled upon. Yup, there were complimentary movies while staying at Ibis Styles Brisbane Elizabeth Street. At about 1pm, we left for St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church via Uber ($28)…

Kate got to meet up with old friends, one of whom was officiating the wedding this afternoon. The message he shared, touched on the freedom in Christ which allows us to overcome our fears. During the service, we sang Amazing Grace (My Chains are Gone) by Chris Tomlin and after the solemnisation, we witnessed the signing of the marriage certificate – reminding of our own wedding years back…
Reception was at an annex next door where we had pastries! Kate’s favourite. Including peach pastry and almond croissant which were delicious! As we still had some time before the wedding dinner this evening at Landmark Restaurant at Sunnybank, we decided to stop by Kmart – located within the same building. The original recommendation was to Westfield. However, we saw that it was about to close, so Kmart it was. During this visit, we clocked out our 10,000 steps while Kate bought a few good deals including a bag for $9, a top and shirt for $8 each as well as a bikini for $20.

Dinner at the Landmark Restaurant Sunnybank was surprisingly good. We had originally thought that perhaps the best Asian food would be found in Asia and that the Australian versions would lack in some aspects. But it was not so. We enjoyed the duck, the lobster ee fu noodles. The lobster and fish that we had this evening were fresh while the beef was really tender. The couple did the first dance to kick off the evening. A beautiful wedding and dinner. Blessings to the couple!
The emcees were also surprisingly good at last minute saves and jokes. Good job guys! During dinner, we also tried out local Australian beers and ciders which went well with the food.
After dinner, we strolled around Market Square nearby. Haidilao was there at level 3! They’re everywhere! We also checked out the food court behind where there was a crowd. As there were much talk about bubble tea or boba during the wedding, Tom decided that a boba drink was in order. Hence, we stopped by Tea Fusion for a Jumbo Bubble Tea which was indeed quite delicious. There was Yang Malatang as well as a Chinese BBQ Skewer Stall nearby. At 1030pm, there were still quite alot of people. Reminded us of the San Jose vibe where we used to hang out years ago.
